Salt of the earth ranch
Equine dry salt therapy, also known as halo therapy, is a holistic treatment that involves exposing horses to micronized dry particles in a controlled environment. This therapy is designed to support respiratory health, skin conditions, and overall well-being.
How it works:
Dry salt is ground into fine particles and dispersed into the air, allowing horses to inhale it.
The salt helps to:
Clear mucus and reduce inflammation in the respiratory system
Combat infections and allergies by acting as a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent.
Improve skin conditions such as fungal infections, dermatitis and wounds
Support performance and recovery in athletic horses by improving lung function
Benefits of Equine Dry Salt Therapy:
Clears airways of dust, mold, and allergens
Helps manage conditions like COPD, heaves, and bronchitis
Supports immune function and recovery from respiratory infections
Can enhance coat and skin health
How it’s administered:
Horses typically receive dry salt therapy in a dedicated salt room or via portable halo therapy machines that release fine salt particles into their stalls or trailers.
Sessions usually last between 20-40 minutes.
